As you walk around the formal garden, you can see the
collection of exotic birds which is housed in spacious and attractive aviaries. With
birds ranging from tiny finches to colourful parakeets and free-flying fantail doves, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy.
The garden comprises different areas, such as cottage style,
traditional rose garden and a grass and gravel garden.
Pergolas lead to a central fishpond and shaded arbours, with
plenty of seating so you can relax within the colourful surroundings.
Wide grass walk-ways lead you to the friendly animals in
their paddocks. There are picnic benches sited around the park and close to the mini-adventure trail, where the
children can let off a bit of steam!
Some fascinating facts and figures can be found on Information
boards as you walk through the newly planted wood and the mini wildflower meadow. For instance - did you know that
one acre of wildflower meadow can support 2.2million spiders! Further round
you can meander through the living-willow tunnel and dome. At the
Seed & Nectar Bar find out which are the best plants to attract birds, bees and butterflies into your garden; and see
how many different birds you can spot at the Bird Feeding Station.
The large pond is home to newts, frogs and toads as well
as dragonflies and many other mini-beasts. Although you may not be able to see them all, there are numerous nesting and hibernating
boxes around the park for birds, bats, hedgehogs, insects and other wildlife.
