Meet our friendly animals...

Come and meet our collection of friendly animals in their spacious enclosures - ranging from Alpacas to Zebu.  Some of the first animals you’ll meet are the meerkats – our mob is always up to mischief! Even on rainy days you can stay under cover and watch them having fun in their heated house. Don’t miss their daily feeding and keeper talk.

Near the meerkats you'll find our resident reptiles, such as a prehistoric uromastyx lizard, and Coral our albino Corn Snake. On sunny days you'll find Josie, our 65 year old tortoise, and her friends roaming in their outdoor enclosure, next to the rabbits and guinea pigs.

Around the zoo you’ll find our other small carnivores including playful Tanuki - also known as Racoon dogs, striped skunk, and Jango, our Asian Leopard Cat.

As you continue, the park opens up into paddocks housing the larger animals. They love meeting visitors - especially if the greedy goats see you carrying a bag of animal food (which can be bought at the entrance). Our donkey, Jake, may even greet you with a very loud welcoming bray! Learn about our rare-breed Ouessant sheep - the smallest breed in the world; Australian wallabies, Patagonian Mara and woolly alpacas from South America, or our Indian Zebu cattle. And don’t forget the naughty miniature Shetland ponies, Merry and Pippin.

Listen for our lemurs, the second loudest primate in the world, and learn more about them at our keeper talks. Whilst you're nearby look out for their coati neighbours climbing around above your head.

Through the Formal Gardens and the exotic birds, you can find the Secret Garden with our energetic Eastern Chipmunks, watch them race around the tunnels above you head!
